This paper deals with the dependence of stumpshoot vigor - number of stumpshoots on the coppicing base, i.e. stump dimensions (diameter and height) of the following tree species: white ash, sycamore, sessile oak, red oak, silver lime and Turkish hazel. The relationship can be expressed by regression equations - models. Statistically significant dependence of stumpshoot number on stump diameter at the level p0.05 was estimated only in silver lime and Turkish hazel. The optimal function is the multiplicative function. Statistically significant dependence of shoot number on stump height was recorded in all analyzed tree species. The above dependence in sessile oak and white ash is best expressed by linear function, and in other species, by multiplicative function. The dependence of shoot number on the total effect of stump diameter and height is also very high. Sessile oak and white ash dependence is best expressed by a linear function (model 4), other species by a multiplicative function (model 5).
