Quantity determination of A, D3 and E vitamins in premixes by HPLC [high pressure liquid chromatography]

Vitamin A (vitamin A-acetate), vitamin D3 and vitamin E (DL-alfa-tokoferol-acetate) have been analysed in 24 premixes during 1997 and 1998. All the three vitamins were estimated by high pressure liquid chromatography (HPLC). Sample was saponified in a water-methanol medium. The mixture was extracted by petroleum ether and extract was put to dryness. The residue was dissolved in methanol and injected into the HPLC system. Vitamins were separated on reverse phase with methanol as an elution solvent, on ODS Hyperil column. Eluated vitamins were identified on diode-array detector and quantified on wavelength 325nm for vitamin A, 265nm for vitamin D3 and 286nm for vitamin E.
