Minic, D. (Institut za sumarstvo, Beograd (Yugoslavia))
Seven generation of Apanteles solitarius Ratzb. were produced during one calentar year. Tha capacity of Apanteles solitarius females to produce diapausing cocoons already in the first generation is very significant. The maximal eclosion of wasps in the year when the cocoons were formed amounted to 73.6 in the third generation, and the maximum percentage of cocoons in diapause was 83.8 in the seventh generation. The longest Apanteles solitarius diapause is in the first generation and it shortens gradually till the seventh generation. The instars of Apanteles solitarius in the cocoons of the first generation most often break the diapause in November and December of the current year. From the cocoons of the second to the seventh generations, disregarding the time of formation, the wasps most often emerge in the following spring.
