The subject of the work was to determine the present bacterial microflora and to find out whether it caused reproductive disorders in bitches as well as to determine the sensitivity of bacteria toward antibiotics. As material, vaginal swabs of bitches divided in two groups were used. One group consisted of bitches with problems connected with estrus, impossibility of conception and false gravidity. The other group consisted of bitches with normal sexual cycle, but perinatal puppy death. On the basis of the isolated microflora, it was determined that the proportionally most frequently isolated bacteria species was Staphylococcus aureus (24.62). The isolated bacterial microflora can be divided in 2 groups: the group that causes reproductive disorders and the group that is not the primary causative agent of diseases, but cause disorders when the homeostasis is affected. Bacterial microflora showed the greatest sensitivity toward Gentamycin and the greatest resistance toward Tilozin.
