The toxic effect of Cu on plasmid pigment content and drain yield was more clearly expressed compared to the effect of arsenic. All pigments were reduced more significantly in the presence of Cu as compared to As. Inoculated plants showed less sensitivity to the presence of As and Cu at the later stages of rice development. The concentrations of As higher that 50 mg As/kg soil and Cu higher than 230 mg Cu/kg soil had a toxic and lethal effect up to the end of the rice development.
