Study on fattening abilities and slaughter qualities of two-, three- and four-breed hybrid pigs

A comparative study with three hybrids, including 70 pigs each was carried out, according to the following pattern: 1-st group Landrace(L) x Large White of English origin(LW) x L- two line hybrid; 2-nd group - L x LW x Duroc(D) and 3-rd group - L x LW x Belgian L x Duroc.The animals were reared at the same conditions from birth till slaughter at reach of 100 kg live weight.It was found that the fattening period lasted 93.013; 93.278 and 101.328 days for the 1-st, 2-nd and 3-rd group respectively.The amount of food used for 1 kg gain was lower for the three-breed hybred followed by the two -breed.The four breed hybrid was superior to the rest in slaughter output, as well as in the content of meat with bones in the main cuts of the carcass by 1.80%.
