A study on the effect of nutritive medium mineral composition on development of Prunus armeniaca micropropagated crops

The effect of five basic nutritive media of different composition and concentration of the following macrosalts has been studied under apricot micropropagation: rich in mineral composition (Murashige/Skoog, Quoirin/Lepoivre, Schrenk/Hildebrandt), of an average level of macrosalt concentration (Cheng, Nitsch), and poor in mineral composition (White). It has been found that the composition of microsalts and their concentration influences bud proliferation, and development of micropropagated buds, with the variation of nitrate salts amount having more essential importance. The optimum values of nitrates vary from 2500 up to 3500 mg/l. Higher content of ammonium nitrate (exceeding 400 mg/l) on behalf of potassium nitrate, supresses development of crops. Microelements are not of a considerable importance to bud proliferation, but their addition to nutritive medium stimulates development of crops.
