Subject of the study are results from measuring the rates of genetic difference between the parental forms in different silkworm hybrids and conditions of growing. The results obtained show that the minimum number of genes, according to which the initial forms differ, vaies bitween 1 in the inheritance of the cocoon weight, character, between 1 and 2 - in that of the silk cover weight and raw cocoons silkness, and between 1 and 3 - in the inheritance of the silk thread length. The chengeaility of the difinite genetic parameter may be explained with the expressiveness of the genes, which affect the respective character, determined by the genes interaction and by the varying response of the genotype toward the environmental conditions.
