Paper deals with conditions and peculiarities of algae communities formation in Desna River according to the river continuum concept. Structural organization of algae communities was shown to depend on conditions in river basin and hydrological factors. on parts of river flow under strong influence of anthropogen factors some "stress occurence" can be observed in structural organization of algae communities. Such occurences reflect intencity and duration of stressors
