Study on the optimal levels of dietary energy and protein of Shiqi Yellow Broiler during the early growth period

The experiment had the objective to determine the optimal dietary energy and protein level. The experiment had set up a total number of 20 treatment groups and five repetitions with 16 hens in each repetition. In the experiment, the ME levels were 11.3 MJ/kg, 11.9 MJ/kg, 12.6 MJ/kg and 13.2 MJ/kg, respectively while the CP levels were 16.0, 17.5, 19.0, 20.5 and 22.0, respectively. Results showed that the optimal ME and CP levlees for young Shiqi broilers should be 12.6 MJ/kg and 19 based on weight gain, and 13.2 MJ/kg and 20.5 based on energy retention, nitrogen retention and feed conversion rate.
