Study of barren ear tip in maize I. Inheritance of the flower number per ear

In this study, a 8 x 8 diallel without reciprocals and 8 inbreeds were studied. Relationship of all kinds of flower per ear were made a systematically studied. The result were as following: inheritance analyzing showed that the influence of genotypes on flower number per ear was the most important factor, but the failure flower and nonpollinated flower number were mostly affected by environment.
