Our research results showed that the best initial material for breeding was obtained from the early and medium-early ripening varieties Rapid, Gloriosa, Kelvedon Wonder, Early Gribovi 11; from the medium ripening varieties Looming, Sputnik and Stratagem. In years 1990-1998 have been bred three new varieties of garden peas. The first variety is early-ripening variety Valma, 40-51 days from sprouting to blooming. The second new variety is Herko, that is medium-ripening and very high-yielding, suitable for freezing and producing canned peas. The third new variety N1041 (Erme) is medium-early ripening, with high yield and it is suitable for growing in home garden
