In contrast to the neighboring countries in Hungary the production of various water fowl, including broiler ducks, mallards, Muscovy ducks, has been traditionally significant. Utilizing to the full the growth potential of young birds, and achieving the desired carcass composition is possible through efficient feeding only. Efficiency of nutrition can be improved for water fowl just as for all other animal species if we have more accurate information about their requirements and if we rectify the information available on the nutrient content of feedstuffs.
