Data on immunisation of turkey flocks against Newcastle disease
2000
Polner, T.
Data on immunisation of turkey flocks on a large scale intensive turkey farm with various methods and with different preparates are presented in this article. Initially, the parent flock had been immunised three times with live attenuated vaccines (B1, La Sota), whereas commercially sold birds with H vaccine after a single pre-immunisation, or, from 1985 onwards, with inactived vaccine individually, into the wing muscles. The resultant immunity was checked for with anti-haemagglutination test. In contrast to the mean titers of 1:30-50 that could be achieved with the use of the H vaccine the inactivated vaccine produced a titer of 1:90-170 in the parent flock, and 1:80-120 in commercially sold birds.
