Lake sediment (sapropel) additives to a full ration concentrated mixed feed for laying hens were tested under production conditions in an experimental group with 26 000 hens and in a control group with 22 000 hens. Despite the 4 % addition of dry sapropel to the total volume of concentrated feed, the level of crude protein in the concentrated mixed feed decreased by 0.3 % (15.2 % - in the control group and 14.9 % - in the experimental group), laying didn't decrease and was high through the whole recording time for 150 days. In the experimental group at the beginning of recording period on the 48th age week it constituted 85.7 %, at the end of recording on the 68th age week - 77.6 %. In the control group indices were accordingly 85.4 % and 75.2 %. Egg mass was slightly bigger to hens from the experimental group: at the beginning of recording period - 67.7 g, at the end - 71.0 g, to control hens - accordingly 67.6 g and 69.5 g.
