The article is a survey describing the development, management and direction of the Estonian Horsebreeders Society (EHS) and the horsebreeding in Estonia as whole. The task and the activity of the EHS since its restoration in 1992 is explained. The following Estonian horse breeds are described: Estonian Native Horse, Estonian Heavy Draught Horse and the Tori Horse. The future direction of the Estonian Horsebreeders Society depending on needs and opportunities of different breeds and different breeding levels is illustrated in a drawing (fig.2).
