Body temperature dynamics of oestrous cycles in pigs

Dynamics of the body temperature was estimated during estrous in pigs kept individually and in groups. The body temperature was measured once a day (during the whole reproductive cycle) in 7 pigs kept individually. When the standing reflex set in, the temperature increased for 0.3 deg C. In pigs kept in groups the increase of the body temperature was that of 1 deg C between the starting and ending measurements.
