A study was conducted to determine the factors affecting organic matter and its transformation in brackishwater pond. The soil taken from brackishwater ponds were placed in basins and filled with brackishwater. These were prepared similarly as practiced in ponds. Water and soil quality parameters as well as chlorophyll content and plankton abundance were monitored during the experiments. Sampling was done after fertilization and later, the effect of feed as input was monitored. Results showed that organic matter increased after addition of inorganic matter fertilizer. Ammonia was found highly correlated to organic matter. The biological oxygen demand (BOD) increased with feed input and decreased with aeration
