Investigation of cortical branches of middle cerebral artery in cow

The research on the structure of middle cerebral artery was carried out on 16 brain hemisphares. In investigated animals this artery splits into anterior and posterior olfactoral artery, into 3 frontal branches, and into 2 parietal and 3 temporal branches which supply the given areas of cortex with blood. The anterior and posterior olfactoral artery and particular frontal, parietal, temporal branches may depend from the main trunk of the middle cerebral artery as individual vessels. In three cases the main trunk of middle cerebral artery parts into two several neighbouring branches. The anterior olfactoral artery on three hemispheres parts from rostral cerebral artery
