The Riether Werder is a deep-drained island in the Oderhaff. Most part of island is used as agricultural grassland. The islad has a high potential ecological value. Seabirds are one important intention of nature conservation at this place, but also typical coastal plant communities are detected and should get more care. Some typical reed plant communities are detected and also typical plants of wet grasslands but no salt-plants in the strictly speaking sence. A higher influence of water of the Baltic may be a important benefit to the important plant communities of these wetlands. Without dyke the agricultural use may be impossible, also the dry-sand communities on the dyke may become less area
