Effect of the rate and position of application of nitrogen on content of mineral constituents of the soil and apple leaves

The following treatments were applied to four-tree-plots and replicated four times in a randomized split-plot design: no N (control); 60 kg N/ha, whole area; 120 kg N/ha, whole area; 60 kg N/ha, herbicided strips; 120 kg N/ha, heerbicided strips; leaf-applied N (0.6 percent urea). The objective of the study was to determine wheather the same nitrogen rates applied to the whole orchard or to the herbicide strips only, differ in their effect on mineral content of soil and apple leaves
