Influence of calcium carbonate on the content of macronutrient in soil and apple tree leaves and fruits

Liming decreased acidity in top soil and in lesses degree in subsoil. In a herbicided fallow, soil reaction was lower than in the grass alleyways thoroughtout the the experiment. Application of CaCO3, to the soil increased the content of calcium, magnesium, potassium and phosphorus, especially in the top soil. A high concentration of calcium in the soil had no effect on its content in the apple leaves cv. Rubin. However, higher concentrations of calcium in the soil increased the magnesium content of the apple leaves and had greater effect on the content of phosphorus and nitrogen of this tissue. Less potassium was found in the apple leaves under liming the soil. Little more calcium and magnesium were found in the grunts from the limed tree tree-plots than in control. However, nitrogen and phosphorus content of the fruits was not depended on liming
