The effect of the yield of N application to the soil (0, 30, 60, 120 kg N.ha-1.year-1), as foliar sprays (10, 20 kg N.ha-1.year-1) and both (15 + 5, 30 + 60, 60 + 20 kg N.ha-1 year-1) has been studied since 1995 in the cv. Cobrancosa. The experiment has been conducted in a not irrigated olive grove planted in 1989 in a schist soil of Tras-os-Montes. No significant mean effect between experimental treatments was found for the fruit yield, fruit-mean weight, fruit-fat content and olive oil acidity
