In the laboratory lysimetric experiment there was observed the effect of slow release nitrogen fertilizers on leaching of bivalent cations (Ca2+and Mg2+) from brown soil depending on both applied forms of nitrogen fertilizer (nitrate of ammonia + dolomite, urea-formaldehyde condensates with different activity index). It was found that the leaching is directly connected with the soil nutrient reserve, or with the fertilizer rate resp. Calcium leaching is as intensive as magnesium. The activity index of urea-formaldehyde condensates was found to have a significant influence on leaching of cadmium and magnesium. The most intensive leaching was noted for the treatments with nitrate of ammonia + dolomite and urea-formaldehyde condensates with IA = 65
