Degradability of nutrients of pasture herbage in rumen of heifers

In sacco experiments were used to determine the degradability of dry matter, organic matter, crude protein, NDF and ADF in pasture herbage PP1 - PP4 sampled in June and August in submontane region. We used three heifers with large rumen canulas. The quality of pasture herbage was determined by chemical analyses. The pasture herbages differed in vegetation phase, the composition and content of cell walls corresponding to it (tab. 1). The highest percentual proportion of N bound to ADF of total N was in PP2, similar results were with content of lignin. The lowest rate of degradation of dry matter "c" was in PP4 0.0409/h (tab.2). The shrinkage of cell walls after 48 hours incubation varied within the span 54% (PP4) to 75% (PP1)
