Parameters of milk efficiency in dairy cows of the Slovak Pied breed and milk breed crosses from breed improvement were compared. The cows were kept in identical conditions of production. Statistically highly significant effect (P0.01) of rearing, year of calving, number of lactation days and length of previous between-calvings interval on the production of milk and its components were determined by the analysis of covariances. Statistically significant (P0.05) difference between the pure-bred dairy cows and crosses was noticed, with the exception of protein production, and it represented 88 kg (1st lactation) to 338 kg (3rd lactation) in milk production in favour of the crosses. There were found no statistically significant differences in percentual content of milk components between the pure-bred dairy cows and the crosses
