Atmospheric deposition of heavy metals in Slovakia - assessment on the basis of the analysis of mosses and humus

Work includes sampling methodology, methodology of chemical analyses and presents data on the concentrations of As, Cd, Cr, Cu, Fe, Hg, Ni, Pb, V and Zn in mosses and humus in the years 1991, 1995, 1996 and 1997. Basic data on the distribution of heavy metals are complemented by critical assessment of their content in mosses in relation to limit values from northern Norway. The assessment of total load on the territory of Slovakia by heavy metals was expressed by means of a coefficient of mosses loading by heavy metals (K supx) that gives exceeding of limit values of heavy metals in mosses in Europe
