A research on the adaptation of grasspea (Lathyrus sativus) in Aegean region

Fifteen grasspea lines obtained from ICARDA were grown under Menemen ecological conditions in 1995 and 1996, and were evaluated for number of days to flowering and maturity, plant type, lodging, vigour, 1000-seed weight, seed and biological yields. 1000-seed weight of lines ranked between 58 and 76 g. Seed yield varied in a range of 1110-2500 kg/ha while that of biological yield was of 7810-11880 kg/ha. It was concluded that grasspea could be grown in Aegean region
