The pollen traps, used in this study which form the bottom to the hive, were fitted to the test colonies in alternate weeks in the period of 20th May-3rd July, 1995. During the period, the sealed brood area was measured 6 times in 30 colonics as being 15 tests (with trap) and 15 controls (no trap). The sealed brood area, the number of frames covered with bees, the amounts of honey harvested and pollen trapped were evaluated at the end of active season
