Evaluation of peanut germplasm for resistance to the complex of insects was done in the 1993 rainy season. The experiment was consisted of 5 peanut germplasm sets. They were 20 lines from International test-F6 lines, 33 lines from International Test ICRISAT Germplasm, 33 lines from Uniform Insect Resistance Nursery Test no.2, 18 lines from International Test-Insect Germplasm and 14 lines from Uniform Insect Nursery. Tainan 9 and KK 60-1 were included as the check entries. Leaf damages caused by thrips and leafhoppers were evaluated at 30, 45 and 60 days after planting. At harvest, pod damages were counted and recorded. Rating was done on a number of damaged leaves per row. The results showed that leaf damaged caused by thrips and leafhoppers was very low. Leaf miner population was also low. Yields of 10 lines from International Test F6 lines, 7 lines of International Test ICRISAT Germplasm, 17 lines from Uniform Insect Resistance Nursery Test no.2, 6 lines from International Test Insect Germplasm and 3 lines from Uniform Insect Nursery were higher than yields of Tainan 9.
