Yield and quality of the grapes and wines of the Merlot cultivar in the Vinarce vineyard area [Serbia, Yugoslavia]

Over the three-year investigations (from 1996 to 1998) yield and quality of grapevines of the Merlot cultivar in the Vinarce vineyard are, Serbia (Yugoslavia) were tested. Based on the study results which included average grapes yield of 8986 kg/ha, content of sugar of 22.8% as well as the high quality of the resulting wine, it can be concluded that high quality wines can be produced from this grapevine cultivar.
