The investigations were carried out on the farm POS "Toplocani" near Prilep (The Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia). Male lambs, P1 generation crossbreds of Domestic (Macedonian) Merino sheep and Sardinian rams were used as investigation material. The body development of lambs was monitored from birth to the age of 113 days, before slaughtering. Also, the effects of crossing were monitored through daily and total gain and slaughter quality. Exected effects of the crossbreeding depending on the genetic difference between the populations which were crossed, and in the system of crossbreeding of the mentioned breeds only the heterosis effect of the individual was used. Obtained results were processed by usual mathematical-statistical methods. Established results of the investigation, the dynamics of gain, slaughter quality and yield of slaughter by products of the crossbreds of P1 generation convince us that it is possible to increase the production of lamb meat of milk breeds in the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia.
