Using the water culture method, the effect of different Ni concentrations (10E-7, 10E-5 and 10E-3 mol/cubic dm) on nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium, calcium and magnesium content in above-ground parts and roots of young wheat and maize plants was investigated. The studied Ni concentrations had a tendency of increasing the content of investigated elements, except N and K, in above-ground parts and roots of wheat plants. In maize plants, the content of investigated elements was increased in above-ground parts, and reduced in roots, except P. Increased Ni concentrations in the nutrient medium had different effect on the content of elements in wheat and maize plants, and in above-ground parts and roots as well.
