In this paper we propose to study genotype (boar) x density in box interaction, on the growth performances (weight at weaning - 42 days, weight at beginning of test - 90 days, total gain and the average daily gain) of the Large White of Gornesti young pigs, on 42-90 days. 3 groups were constituted with the following densities in boxes: 6 pigs (control), 8 pigs (experimental 1), and 10 pigs (experimental 2). There were recorded insignificant differences among the average values of the three groups, and also insignificant variances of interaction genotype (boar) x density in box. There results confirm the lack of the interaction genotype x density in box for the analysed traits, but we have to mention that although they are insignificant, the differences are in the adventage of control group. Thus, it is recommended that in the performance testing of pigs, the density not be over 8 pigs in a box. When the density is over 8 pigs in a box the growth performances are lower, relatively.
