The effect of acaricide Orthus 5-SC (fenpyroxymate) in compare with a standard compound Neoron 500 EC (brompropylate) in control of Panonychus citri McGregor, one of the most dangerous citrus pest in Montenegro (Yugoslavia), has been evaluated. The efficiency of applied acaricides has been estimated two, seven and fourtheen days after treatment. The results obtained showed that the both investigated acaricides demonstrated a very high initial toxicity upon the agility stages of the pest. Two days after treatment both acaricides gave the same efficiency (99.88%), while after seven and fourtheen days Orthus 5 SC showed a higher efficacy than the standard compound. As the population of the pest has been considerably reduced after the treatment, it can be concluded that this acaricide is very effective in controlling Panonychus citri in Montenegro (Yugoslavia).
