The use of yield potential of maize hybrids grown under irrigation and rainfed
2000
Petrovic, J.
Morphological traits, ear properties, as well as, grain yield of maize were studied in the two-year three-factorial microtrial set up in the experimental field of the Maize Research Institute, Zemun Polje - Belgrade (Serbia, Yugoslavia). The studies encompassed two variants of watering amounts (natural and irrigation), seven planting densities (40,816, 50,125, 59,529, 69,686, 79,365, 89,286 and 98,522 plants/ha) and three maize hybrids (ZPSC 677, ZPSC 704 and ZPSC 800). Effects of observed factors on plant height, ear height, number of plants without ears, number of broken and lodged plants, leaf area formation and leaf area index (LAI) were studied within morphological traits.
