Observations of the occurrence of some erysiphales in the Ruhr area [Germany]

The Ruhr area, parts of Westphalia and the Rhine area are with regard to the spreading of microfungi still a white patch on the fungi map. Owing to favourable circumstances we were able to provide a first survey on the occurrence of phytopathogenic fungi in this area. The examination of the erysiphales is a minor part of the intended survey on microfungi in the Ruhr area. In this survey we present some species of the erysiphales {Erysiphe, Phyllactinia, Microsphaera, Blumeria, Uncinula, Sawadaea, Podosphaera, Sphaerotheca) including 36 species on 69 hosts completed by some anamorphes. Original specimen can be found in the mycological herbarium of the University of Essen (ESS) under its collective number.
