Management of "space-resources" in forester Central Africa should be based on uses and local practices, but the concrete modalities of such an assertion have often to be invented. The original idea of this thesis is to use the space as an integrating factor of several disciplines, particularly the human sciences, leading to a poly-functional tool for the manager use. This idea will be illustrated through the confrontation of: the space exploited by an ethnic group of Central Africa, the Badjoue from East Cameroon, in his production system and of social "reproduction" system and the space conceived and organized at the state level. Understanding the two logics, which are often divergent, and the development of several tools, permit the manager to operate choices leading to some propositions of management integrating several realities. Following an introductory chapter about natural surroundings, the second chapter summarises the historical and anthropological bibliography about Badjoue. Chapter 3 gives more information about the knowledge of the production system of these "scrub-controllers"-hunters by developing especially the collecting of non-timber forest products and palm wine. The study of the current and former spatial occupation of the forester clump as the consequence of the production/reproduction system is then approached. Chapter 5 develops state vision of land management. Finally, the confrontation of these two ways of understanding space and the integration of anthropological notions in the "Theorie des maitrises foncieres" allows to formulated some recommendations for the consideration of the human factor in the main kinds of state run space : Management Forest Units, areas of conservation, community forests.
