Assimilation of magnesium from fertilizers of different granulation
2000
Slavov, D. (Institut po Tsvetarstvo, Negovan (Bulgaria))
The impact of magnesite's and dolomite's granulation on the ryegrass, ripe corn and oats yields and magnesium exports was studied in a tree-year container trial on cinnamonic-leached forest soil that has unfavorable magnesium regime. The magnesium fertilizers have positive impact on the yield and on the magnesium concentration in the plants of all the three crops. The granulation represents an important feature of the hardly soluble magnesium fertilizers magnesite and dolomite. A faster and stronger impact on the yield, the contents, the exports and the magnesium utilization coefficient dispose the fertilizer that content more than 80% particles of up to 0.3 mm in size. A stronger impact of the fertilizer's granulation within the first year was observer with magnesite, while the dolomite's granulation has a significant impact even in the third year.
