Porcine circovirus infections

The range of causative agents of porcine virus infections has recently been extended by circovirus as an agent with not yet defined epizootiological significance and pathogenicity. Circovirus has already been isolated in Austria and Poland and can be expected to emerge in swine herds in the Czech Republic. The article provides basic information on the agent, the disease, and methods of laboratory diagnostics.
