Ecological evaluation of changes in use of landscape in the eastern part of the Podyji National Park

The research is based on the method of biogeographical differenciation of landscape in the geobiocenological sense according to Mr Zlatnik's theory of geobiocene type. The work consists of several successive operations: differentiation of the landscape into ranges of certain ecological conditions on the basis of natural vegetation (groups of geobiocene types). The other part is reconstruction of the state of the landscape in different periods of the nineteenth and twentieth centuries. The present state of geobiocenoses in the landscape is based on determination of types of actual vegetation. The result are maps of potential vegetation, historical maps of land use and detailed map of contemporary vegetation, which are evaluated both in geographical information system and so can be helpful in evaluation of impacts of changes on ecological and aesthetical values of the landscape.
