[Statistical evaluation of trophy game farming]

This article shows how to proceed in order to draw the best conclusions from deer trophy antlers evaluation. The trophies from three fictitious hunting areas (A, B, C) with a big variability of different data (number of trophies and medals, CIC points, age and weight of the animals) are compared using statistical methods. The example shows that the hunting area with the highest number of medals (A: 3 medals, B: 0 medals, C: 1 medal) is not necessary the best one when evaluated by appropriate statistical methods such as multifactorial analysis of variance. This analysis where hunting area, age and weight of animals are taken into account as factors shows that the best breeding values were obtained in the area B, which also presented the highest CIC average value.
