From research on the antifungal activity of copper containing compounds

The sensitivity of thirteen fungi to copper sulphate and cooper oxychloride was tested. Both agents were active against the studied fungi. Species of Aspergillus, Penicillium, Fusarium and Gliocladium were significantly more resistant than Alternaria, Chaetomium and Trichotecium. The differences were greater for copper oxychloride than for copper sulphate. Antagonistic fungus Trichoderma was on 10-fold more sensitive to copper oxychloride than to copper sulphate. Biotic activity between T. harzianum and test fungi was depended on copper sulphate concentration in Czapek's agar. A considerably negative effect of Fusarium oxysporum on the growth of T. harzianum was detected on media with copper sulphate. Fungi Aspergillus niger and Penicillium funiculosum reduced inhibitory activity of copper sulphate on growth of T. harzianum.
