In recent years the study of ileal digestibility of amino acids has become an important area of research aimed at meeting the amino acid requirements of pigs even more precisely. Based on already available data it is obvious, that the amino acid requirement of pigs could be best satisfied if we used the so called available amino acid content of feed. Determination of the available amino acid content of feed, however, still implies various possibilities for errors, thus the protein and amino acid contents of pig feed. In our paper we present animal trial methods which allow the determination of ileal digestibility of proteins and amino acids. Based on the available literature it is apparent that altough the digestibility figures determined by the most slightly from each other, the difference can be attributed primarily to the different recover ability of markers used. Assuming, however, the same degree of recover ability of markers the ileal digestibility of proteins determined by various methods can be considered identical. When selecting the trial method priority should be given to the composition of the age (live weigth) of the trial animals.
