Egg production disorders in geese due to mycotoxins and mycoplasma
1999
Bistyak,A. | Hortob gyi,E.
To examine the effects of mycotoxins and Mycoplasma in egg production disorders of geese, egg production data from 7 yearling breeder flocks, toxicological results of 24 geese layer feeds, 37 PM results and 7 microbiological culture results for Mycoplasma were analysed.Feed was frequently contaminated with mycotoxins, particularly trichothecene.Low levels of contamination caused no or only a slight decrease in egg production. The decrease in production was considerable in the presence of both feed contamination and Mycoplasma infection.High levels of conatmination with mycotoxins also caused a significant decrease in production. The importance of these findings is discussed.
