1999
Salyi, G.
The article outlines the basic characteristics of PCDD-, PCDF- and PCB-derivates having a "dioxine-like" effect, their source of environmental pollution, mode of their concentration in the food chain and their metabolism an animal organism. Besides some of their acute toxicity data, their toxic effects in experimental animals during chronic toxicity trials, human epidemiological data from surveys following environmental pollution and practical experience with cases of animal poisoning. Data are also presented to illustrate the extent of environmental pollution with "dioxine" and on the estimated amount of dioxine that can be tolerated by humans without adverse effects on their health.
