Authors detected severe infestation caused by an unknown pest for the Hungarian fauna, Argyresthia trifasciata Stdgr.on Juniperus scopulorum 'Skyrocket'in county Zala.Larval damages appear in mining of the shoot tips of host plants.The shoot tips turn brown, dry and the physical appearance of the plants deteriorates.Observations confirm one generation of this species a year in Hungary.Adults fly in May, larvae attack from mid-June to November.In addition to biological studies, authors make recommendations for control of the pestand propose an eventual Hungarian name for it.
