Updating of the breeding programme of the Association of Limousin Breeders (AIB) has been continously undertaken.Type classification was introduced in 1986 in Hungary, and is based on 4 principal quality groups (utility score, score for length, score for width, score for muscularity) and includes 22 type traits.The investigation were carried out using 207 Limousin cows from two seed stock herds (A:n=60; B:n=147).The aim of this study was to calculate the correlations among traits of type classification and to establish the possibility for the reduction of the number of type traits in official type classification.Type classification suckling cows was done at 4-5 years of age (after second calving).
