Final oocyte maturation and ovulation of African catfish were induced by three different substances, as below. Traditional hypophysation with carp pituitary suspension was compared to treatments of Biogonadyl, which contaminated human chorionic gonadotropin, and a mammalian GnRH (LHRH)-analogue combined with pimozide (PIM), as dopamine antagonist, at a dosage recommended by De Leeuw et al.(1985), as well as with a reduced dose with same or increased proportion of PIM.
