Yield potential of some rice lines (Oryza sativa L.) resistant to brown planthopper (Nilaparvata lugens Stal.)

Yield potential of seven lowland rice lines with varies in their resistancy to brown plant hopper (BPH) were tested in Singamerta, Pusakanegara and Kuningan Experimental Station in DS 1993 and WS 1993/1994. The experiments were arranged in a randomized complete block design, with three replications. Six variables which determine grain yield were observed, i.e. number of panicles per hill, number of filled/empty grains per panicle, 1000-grains weight, grain maturity and plant height. Result showed that location, season, line/variety, and their interaction gave significant different to all of the variables mentioned, except: (1) Interaction between location x season x rice line/variety to the number of panicles per hill, filled grain, and empty grain, respectively. (2) Inter-action between season x rice line/variety to the number of filled grain. (3) Interaction between location x rice line/variety to the number of filled and empty grains, respectively. (4) Interaction between location x season to the number of filled grain. Average yield across locations and seasons of the four rice lines resistant and/or moderate resistant to BPH (B9651d-18; 9651d-19; B9651d-9; and B7809f-Mr-1-3) were 4.6; 4.7; 4.3; and 4.6 t/ha

Indonesian. Potensi hasil tujuh galur padi sawah yang reaksi ketahanannya berbeda terhadap wereng batang coklat diuji di KP Singamerta, KP Pusakanegara dan KP Kuningan pada MK 1993 dan MH 1993/94. Percobaan disusun dengan menggunakan rancangan kelompok teracak lengkap dengan tiga ulangan. Enam peubah yang dianggap penentu hasil gabah diamati yaitu: Jumlah malai per rumpun, jumlah gabah isi dan hampa per malai, bobot gabah 1000 butir, umur panen dan tinggi tanaman. Hasil uji memperlihatkan bahwa faktor lokasi, musim, varietas, dan interaksinya berpengaruh nyata terhadap semua peubah di atas kecuali: (1) Komponen sumber variasi interaksi musim x lokasi x galur pada sifat jumlah gabah per malai, jumlah malai per rumpun, jumlah gabah hampa per malai; 2) Interaksi lokasi x musim pada sifat jumlah malai per rumpun; dan 3) Interaksi lokasi x galur untuk sifat jumlah gabah hampa per malai.
